I spent this past weekend in Blytheville, Arkansas with my directors and sister queens at Mayfest! This is one of my favorite appearances of the year because I get to spend it in the hometown of the River Delta pageant organization! I attended a downtown street party, a fishing rodeo, a boutique, and I walked around the festival downtown. Even though it rained, it was still a blast :)

Well, the MAOT Class of 2015 Spring Meeting has come to an end and let me say.. There is an amazing group of girls this year! This weekend was so much fun, and I loved getting to meet all of the girls and make so many new friends. On Friday night, we had a cookout and we got to create our own music videos. On Saturday morning, we took a nature walk around the beautiful lake at Heber Springs. That afternoon, we did filming for the pageant and that night we did a photo shoot with the phenomenal Michelle Roberts! On Sunday morning, we had the official lottery which was so much fun! At the meeting, I chose spot B24, which means I will be competing in interview on Wednesday afternoon, Evening Gown/On-Stage Question and Active Wear on Thursday Night, and Talent on Friday. I couldn't be more excited about MAOT this year :)
Yesterday, I had the opportunity to speak about my platform, Make-A-Wish, to the guests at the Harlem Wizards Basketball Game at Blytheville High School. I love any chance to speak about my platform and raise awareness about it as well :)
I'm so glad I got the opportunity to come and spend the evening in Blytheville for the Blytheville Chamber of Commerce Banquet! Thank you for your continuous support of Northeast Arkansas Pageant Association :)
I had a blast at the Miss Greater Jonesboro and Outstanding Teen pageant this year! Kasey Welsh, who I have known forever, was crowned Miss Greater Jonesboro 2015 and she looked absolutely beautiful. I am so excited for her and I can't wait to watch her during her first journey to Miss Arkansas!! Raegan Snell, who I love dearly, was crowned Miss Greater Jonesboro's Outstanding Teen, and I couldn't pick a better person who was more deserving of the title than her. MAOT is going to be a blast with her :) I had the opportunity to perform a dance that I've loved for a long time- Je Suis Malade. I also performed in the closing number, which was so much fun!! Maegan Inzer puts on some great pageants, and this one was amazing. All of the girls looked beautiful, and I had a fun time watching them with some of my sister queens :) Tonight was an absolute blast! The annual Have A Heart Wish A Thon at the Jonesboro Radio Group raised $340,000 this year for the Make A Wish Foundation. That was the most we've ever raised and we hope to raise even more next year! I spent the day with my wish kid, Michaela, with all of the wish granters, and all of the volunteers who spent their entire day working for this fundraiser. I love this organization so much, and seeing what it does for kids who go through so much is worth all of the time and work put in to the fundraisers and wish grantings :)
Today marks the official day of the 17th Have A Heart Wish-A-Thon at the Jonesboro Radio Group. This annual event is led by JRG and KAIT News. I am so excited about spending this day with my sweet wish kid, Michaela. She is so sweet, and I can't wait to talk to her about her trip to Disney World!
-Ellie This past weekend, I was able to attend the Miss Arkansas Delta and Miss Arkansas Delta's Outstanding Teen pageant and entertain. I am so excited to announce that my best friend, Lacey Moore, won the teen pageant and will be going back to state with me again!! She welcomed me into this system with open arms last year, and has been there for me through every step of my amazing year. This year, I can now say the same thing. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to not only go back to MAOT, but to also spend it with one of my favorite sisters. Miss Arkansas Delta 2015 was also crowned, and the very deserving Elli Fowler won. She is so inspiring, dedicated, and hard-working. She has never been to Miss Arkansas, but has been competing in this system for three years. Talk about perseverance. She inspires me to push through tough times and just keep trying, and I cannot wait to cheer this selfless lady on at Miss Arkansas this summer!! I had an amazing weekend, and I can't wait for more appearances this year as Miss River Delta's Outstanding Teen. -Ellie This year, I have decided to do a blog just to keep you updated on where I am and what I have been doing as Miss River Delta's Outstanding Teen. So far, it has been a great year of service! The past 5 months have been amazing, and I can't wait to see what God brings me during my next 7 months of holding my last teen local title, as I will be a senior in high school next year.
Right now, I am beginning to prepare for my annual Make A Wish fundraiser for both Jonesboro Public Schools and also for my individual fund. This is one of my favorite times of the year, because I love serving for my community, especially for this organization, because seeing the outcome of all the hard work that comes with fundraising makes all of the work worth it. Recently, I was just taken off of the waiting list to grant a wish with the money I raised last year, so I am looking forward to doing that soon. Also, I am hoping to raise enough money in order to grant another wish next year as well. I am beyond ecstatic to begin raising money, and if you would like to donate, you can look on the "Donate to MAW (Make A Wish)" tab on this page, and it will tell you all of the ways you can help! Next Saturday, January 24, the Miss Arkansas Delta and Miss Arkansas Delta's Outstanding Teen pageants will be held at Nettleton Performing Arts Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas. I will be entertaining there, and will help crown the new winners. If you are interested in competing, you can go to http://arkansasdeltapageants.weebly.com for more information. If you aren't, you can still come watch the pageant. I am very excited about attending and seeing who will be able to experience this amazing journey to MAOT along with myself and the other new titleholders so far! Thank you for taking the time to view my page, and if you have any questions or comments, feel free to leave a message in the "Contact Me" tab. :) -Ellie Stafford Miss River Delta's OT 2015 |
